I was at the mall this past Saturday with the missus, and I just happened to look up. And I saw something really cool – one of the atriums (this one is over the children’s play area) – The light was hitting it just right, creating these really interesting patterns, so me being me, I snapped a quick photo with my iPhone:
It made me think about how easy it is to miss the details around us when we’re busy doing our simple everyday routine. Just a simple glance upward can reveal little pockets of beauty and interesting shapes. It’s a good reminder to take a moment, look around, and maybe capture a small, unexpected thing!

Because people are often focused on their phones, they rarely look up. However, the sky is always revealing something, especially according to the Bible, as time progresses. I make a conscious effort to look up frequently as a reminder of scripture. The sky and elements like the moon, stars, sun, eclipses, and planets truly capture my attention. Additionally, I take note of birds in the air and the phases of the moon. I prioritize observing these phases.
