Some American Pokeweed – I still can remember my Mom and my Grandfather picking these plants when in the very early stage (shoots and leaves *not the root* are edible with proper cooking); cleaning them, and boiling them up for a tasty meal!
The mature plant and its berries are highly toxic to humans, dogs, and livestock.
