I don’t ever write reviews on this site.
Today, though, I am making an exception.
As you may or may not know, the missus and I spent last weekend at a wonderful place called the Bridgehouse Airbnb located in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. We first experienced this delightful place last Summer 2025 and we were both so impressed with our experience, we wanted to come back this year for another stay.
Not even through the door, we were greeted by the sweetest welcome message on the slate blackboard right outside the main doorway – – such a personal, intimate touch, I love it!
Upon entry, there’s a beautiful queen sized bed to greet you – and so comfortable! Seriously, they don’t make beds like this anymore – this bed is SOLID! There is even an additional double size bed off the backroom for additional guests as well.

The true highlight of this place is its magnificent covered back porch, a sight to behold! It’s generously covered, providing a sanctuary from the scorching sun or any inclement weather. There’s nothing quite like unwinding on this porch during a gentle rainstorm. I eagerly anticipate rain when we visit, simply because of this porch! And the added bonus? McClure Creek flows directly below, its soothing sound creating an atmosphere of complete blissful relaxation.

We spent our mornings sipping coffee from this covered back porch which, to us, is genuinely the heart of the place:

Seriously, the Bridgehouse isn’t just an Airbnb; it is easily the coolest find in all of Pennsylvania, and we are already dreaming of going back for a third visit next summer!
If you’re seeking a truly unique, romantic, or escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, this hidden gem is a must-visit. Nestled near the charming Amish community, this 1.1-acre haven offers a magical blend of eclectic design and rustic countryside charm. I highly recommended for couples or anyone looking for a peaceful digital detox getaway.
Oh, and owners Christina and Michael are two of the warmest, most friendly, and accommodating hosts ever!
Many, many thanks to them both for yet another awesome stay!
