Well, Katey, today is your 18th birthday. Oh my, has time flown by so fast. I can still vividly remember you being born like it was just yesterday. I admit, I had some feelings of frightened terror because I was having a daughter. I wasn’t sure I would know what to do; but the moment I first laid my eyes upon you, it was “game over.” I can still remember you lying in that hospital crib bassinet when you suddenly opened your little Ilotycin-filled eyes and looked up at me. I am so privileged to have watched you grow from my little baby girl into the beautiful, caring, and compassionate young woman you are now.
You are now quickly approaching the precipice of the next phase of your life, regardless of what choices you make, my love and words of encouragement for you will never, ever diminish. You’re my girl – no matter what and I’ll always stand at your side.
