Remembering My Sweet Reecie

Reecie was my guinea pig, and she was truly something special. She was, without a doubt, the sweetest, most affectionate little furball I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.

What made Reecie so wonderful? It was her personality! She absolutely adored giving little kisses – tiny, whisker-tickling affection that always made me smile and feel all warm inside. But her favorite thing, I think, was cuddling. She’d happily snuggle into my arms or nestle on my chest, instantly relaxing and drifting off to sleep. And the best part? She’d make these adorable, happy little purring noises as she slept. It was the most comforting and endearing little sound.

Sadly, she passed away a couple years ago. While losing a pet is never, ever easy, I still find myself thinking about Reecie and missing those cozy cuddle purr-filled sessions. She most definitely left a big piggie paw print on my heart.

        • She certainly did. For those who have told me guinea pigs are not affectionate and are merely “rodents,” they have no idea. These adorable little creatures are some of the most affectionate and loving bundles of fur I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. I had two guinea pigs. My daughter has had quite a few, and she lost her eldest little one several months ago. He was just over eight years old. He loved her so much, and she loved him. They were so bonded.
