Three Career Paths If Money Was No Object

Daily writing prompt
List three jobs you’d consider pursuing if money didn’t matter.

Today’s writing prompt asks me to list three jobs I would take into consideration if money didn’t matter.

  • Garbage Truck Driver – Because, why not? Sure does drill the meaning home when one says, “I take a lot of crap at work!” Yeah, I know, poor attempt at humor. Sorry, not sorry.
  • Auto Mechanic – I’ve always enjoyed disassembling things, so the idea of becoming a grease monkey seemed like a rewarding career. In reality, it would be quite cool. I could keep driving an old car not equipped with all the fancy gadgets that break on today’s cars. The downside: Keeping up with all the newest car technologies, along with tooling/equipment/certifications are a huge money pit.
  • Professional Photographer – I’ve been repeatedly advised to transition my career and pursue a professional photography path. While I value the suggestion, it simply doesn’t align with my aspirations and interests. (1) Professional photography is a very competitive line of work, and (2) it’s just not lucrative enough for me to get into, (3) Photography is my form of therapy, my passion, and I thoroughly enjoy it. However, transforming my hobby into a professional career choice would make it a daily chore, and I’m afraid I wouldn’t find the same joy in it as I do now.

How about you? What is your response to this writing prompt?
